MochaWifey's Random Thought #3

If you see the bride eating...from the plate she paid upwards of $49 for.....that means DON'T RUN UP TRYING TO TALK TO HER!

Why do people think that just because you're sitting down, or quiet for the moment its an open invitation for them to come yammering off. I paid GOOD money for this food, let me eat it!

lol...just remember some people are happy for you. So they want to see you. That's why your spot should provide something for you before you are introduced. Also, you can tell you place to give you two to go boxes and eat once you leave your guest.

Absolutely AWESOME idea about the to-go box. I totally agree about people wanting to see the bride.

I just mean when I've had a receiving line AND I'm gonna walk around and greet everyone with my husband as well, please give me a minute to taste this overpriced chicken kiev. LOL

I had a guest who came up to my sweetheart table, put her elbow on the table and proceeded to have a lengthy discussion with my husband and I while we were eating. Uncute. LOL

Thanks for the comments, we truly appreciate them!!!

OMG!! You better preach in here. While my hubby and I were trying to eat, most guests came up to us to talk. We even had the MC make three seperate announcements to let us eat. THEN, two of our male guests voluntarily came up to our table and stood as security. Even then, people (guests and family) STILL came up to talk to us. Needless to say, we never ate all of our food. AND the caterers forgot to pack our to-go food. I was CRAVING the shrimp cocktail and quiche.

Well I solved this issue...the bridal party table was set up on risers...so we were one level up from the floor and than I had gift tables and cake table set up directly in front of us...so people literally had to wait until we came down before the conversations could start...hated to do this..but we had to eat too!!!

It worked out well!!

As a wedding planner, this is one of my pet peeves. So...once the blessing has been done, I get on the microphone and make an "entreaty" to the guests assembled.

"Ladies and gentlemen, this is indeed a very special time for Bride and Groom. While we are here to celebrate their union, let's not forget that the meal which we are about to partake of - is their very first as husband and wife. This, in itself, is a moment that cannot be experienced again, so I am asking that you allow Bride and Groom to break bread together and enjoy their first meal as a married couple.

There will be plenty of time after dinner to hug, kiss, smooch, congratulate, etc., so please enjoy the wonderful menu chosed especially for this occasion. Bon Appetit!"

Works like a charm..............

This happened to us too! We wasted a filet mignon and a wonderful salmon dish! Although we knew everyone was excited and happy for us we took it in stride. That left us strolling through downtown Boston at 2 in the morning looking for a MC D's, CVS, anyplace that we could have gotten something to eat from! We were starving! lol
